(More customer reviews)To be honest, I didn't know what to expect when I placed my order. I had high hopes, being that it was made by GE, however, I also know that LEDs can vary dramatically based upon their output angle, and brightness.
I bought these w/o the intention of using them in my car, but for halloween, as part of decorations, depending on their brithness, if they would be used to accent a decoration, to be placed in a fake pumpkin that can't use regular candles, or something of the general thought. These arrive in a blister pack exactly as pictured, with two mini spotlights, clear plastic being just about 3/8" diameter, and a little over an inch long with 4" wire lead capped with a connecter to use with their wiring harness. These also derive on the general basis of yellow plus red =`orange, being 3 yellow and 1 red led inside the casing fasing out the barrel.
Although I can't give a true review based upon a car's electric system, being 14.4 volts, and capped at whatever amp fuse you decide to use, I'm going with traditional batteries. Just from soft wiring, I've found that 3AAA batteries in loop offer some, but little light, while a 6v lantern battery giving off obvious more light, I will probably go with several 9v batteries in loop as a power source. Anyway, these aren't blindingly bright, in comparison to running a series of 5 higher quality LEDs on the same 3AAA looped battery pack, that gives off at least 20x more light.
Take this review as you want. I personally wouldn't use this to light up my car, as I would definately save up and find a lot higher quality LED lighting product with wider angle LEDs with more lumen, not to mention a system that appears to be more expandable than just relying on specialized clips that cost you extra, or having to cut and splice wires to avoid buying extra clips. If however, you're good at general electricity, and you have a small project that you think this might work for, and you get it at a price that you won't be dissapointed at having to possibly throw them away at the realization these aren't for you, then it's worth a little fun at experimenting. If however, you need a product to rely on, look for something that specifically lists the LEDs' viewing angle and it's lumens.
