(More customer reviews)I wanted to upgrade my Jeep tail lights to LED while keeping the look 100% stock. These lights are perfect for that purpose.
Most important thing first - These lights ARE NOT "direct bolt in replacement" as described. You'll need to do drilling, wire splicing and get inside the fender well. The instructions were a single page showing you where to drill, that's it. You'll have to splice in the connector from your old lights and you're left on your own to sort out the wiring, there's no diagrams of either the tail light wiring or the Jeep wiring
None of this will be a problem for anyone with simple auto repair skills, but if you're expecting a simple 5 minute bolt on, plug-in replacement you'll be disappointed.
The lights themselves are fine. Mounting aside, they are near copies of the factory light. The lenses have round facets for the LEDs. The LEDs have more punch than the stock lights and they blink much more crisply, but they are not dramatically brighter, don't expect to dazzle anyone behind you. The lights are well sealed against moisture, and the circuit boards inside are fully encapsulated. These lights do not provide the correct resistance to the stock flasher, so they blink too fast. You'll have to replace or modify the flasher, some info on that can be found by googling "jeep led flasher".
One more caveat - with the switch to stud mounting, some types of aftermarket light guards will not fit.
I was happy with the quality of the lights and pleased with the end result, but as I said these are NOT simple direct replacements.
