It's plenty bright and I love the built-in tach and advance feature since I use it mostly to time vintage motorcycles. Motorcycle tachs are notoriously inaccurate so having the digital one right on the timing light is very handy. I even use this on 6 volt motorbikes and engines without electrical systems. Since it has an inductive pickup, I simply use an auxiliary 12 volt battery to power the light. I consider a timing light to be my most valuable tool when it comes time to troubleshoot ignition systems and this unit, with its additional features, makes it even more valuable.
