I found the VUE II on sale at a store that had all their Chauvet equipment on sale. I went in and had the clerks hook it up, and all I can say is that it pretty much blew me away. The sensitivity response is phenomenal, and the coverage area is excellent. The house I set it up in is an 8 lane bowling alley, and I did not have a location near the speakers to set it up at. That worried me, as I have set up other lighting equipment, and they have almost got to be touching the speakers to get them to react with the music. I set it up in the middle of the settee area anyway and plugged a couple bucks into the jukebox. It works fantastic. I personally am very happy with the purchase of this unit, and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to establish a party atmosphere at a very reasonable price. There are no moving parts, and the LED's are projected to last over 10,000 hours, so the maintenance cost will be next to nil, maybe an occasional cleaning off of the dust and a wipe of the lens. Power consumption is also very low. The unit may look large, and it is, but it is extremely light, and with no moving parts there is no concern about mounting bolts working loose. Simply find a spot that will support the weight, and away you go. It is also plenty bright, illuminating the pin area of the lanes which are over 60 feet away from the unit.
