I simply opened the packaging on the shipping tube on one end, and slid the end of the product out to see it was incorrect, and slid it back in and retaped, and they won't accept it... Don't buy this if you have an 06 Tundra body style...it'll rub the bottom of the tailgate...

I was hesitant that just the 3m tape would hold it on, but it's been on there and hasn't budged in almost half a year. I did have an issue with the connector that is on the wiring harness, but it was an easy fix as I cut it out and put some sta-kons in it's place.

(More customer reviews)i thought the 10 inches led would be 10 inches of led's but its more like 4 inches of led's 6 inches of blue end pieces. has two wires, one from the led's to the control box(has music, solid, scan. and its and actual box with speaker holes), then a smaller wire to adapter. the adapter its self is poorly made i do not recommend taking it apart more then once. the screw i got is stripped, before i even tried to take it apart. led's only have a 180 degree area, and come with sticky pads on the backside of them. also has one screw hole at both ends of tube. the whole tube itself is 1 inch diameter. wire length- wire led->control box is 1 foot 6 inches. wire control box->adapter is 3 feet.

(More customer reviews)Does a good job but the adhesive supplied to attache it to the truck is not up to the job. The easy fix is to attached it with SS screws. Even adding the screws (excluding time to go buy them) the install was less than 45 minutes.
UPDATE: 6 months use now and working just fine!

(More customer reviews)So far, a very good purchase. I installed the light bar approx. 2 months ago on my 2007 RAM 3500 Mega Cab and have had no problems with it. It installs very easily including splicing the white wire into your truck's wiring harness for the use of the white reverse lights. The lights are pretty bright, but not blinding which I feel is a good thing. Overall, a good product. MAKE SURE YOUR TAILGATE DOES NOT HIT THE LIGHT BAR WHEN OPENING. POSITION THE LIGHT BAR LOW ENOUGH TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM.

Recon 264124CL LED Third Brake Light Kit 2004-2006 Ford F150 - Clear Lens Review

(More customer reviews)Firstly, this product shipped and was delivered in the exact time and in the exact specifications advertised, EXCEPT 1..On the box it says "plug and play", however, it does NOT mention that the plug is back between the headliner and the roof of the truck, to the passenger side a few inches. To access it, I had to reach up under the headliner from inside the truck, which involved pulling the headliner down slightly and (finally) getting it unclipped. I was then able to pull the connector free from the retaining clip and feed it through the hole where the stock light wiring went. After that, plug and play was the truth. I've read on a few F150 sites that most folks ended up breaking the retaining clips to get access to the connector, however if that doesn't sit right with you, then plan on taking part of your headliner down. Other than that issue, this item is great, couldn't be happier...

I have just finished the install of a smoked lens led third brake light in my Supercrew. It was not the "No tools other than a phillips screwdriver are required {recon website}" or "Quick & Easy installation in minutes: Uses existing holes without modification or drilling [from Amazon] install as advertised. Having to either try to pop out a couple of white tabs or in my case - cut them off, since getting any leverage on them was very difficult and either way, I did not see any way to clip the plug back in once done. BTW, without the connector clipped in, am I to expect some rattling from that area now?
Ford hopefully had a reason to clip in the connector and without me using a couple of wire ties, it should not rattle.
On the other hand, it fit fine, looks great and I have to get the wife out to hit the brakes so I can SEE THE LIGHT. :)
Thanks to the CSR that talked to me, buy Recon should have a install FAQ for this.

(More customer reviews)The factory OEM light was leaking (no longer watertight) and I decided to replace the whole light because the original had been beat up by the elements. I was concerned about whether it fit exactly because I didn't want it to leak. It was a perfect fit for the '98 Ford Ranger and cosmetically looks much nicer than the factory light. The supplied harness plugged right into the factory harness on the truck without any trouble whatsoever.
I think the red LED stoplamps are at least as noticeable as the original bulb system - hard to compare directly because they put out a different kind of light. The cargo lights seem brighter than the originals at nighttime, but they are more focused and concentrated on the tailgate. Overall, I am pleased with the product and have no regrets about the purchase.

(More customer reviews)I bought these lights to fit under my dash and front seats- I waited a year to make sure they would hold up long enough- they are still running just like day one! these lights give off a bright green glow and the option to pulse to the music playing is a bonus feature! the power cord is long enough to wrap around certain parts of my car to stay hidden and still have cord left over. The only flaw was the stick tape strips on the lights and control boxes didnt hold up in the FL heat that my car bakes in everyday- but that was minor and fixed with velcro and super glue... these lights are a great buy to add a special look to your car.

On the 45th day the light bar started to get moisture in the left side from bad manufacturing (my opinion) and then the left side running light stopped working. The right side driving, both brake, and the backup lights work fine currently. So it looks stupid at night to have only the right half of the bar lit. Contacted the seller and the reply was, sorry 30-day warranty. I would not suggest buying a product like this with a 30-day warranty.
