(More customer reviews)Was in a very bad car accident on freeway in Feb 09. I had all front end damage and airbags went off the whole shabang. Very frightening. My car traveled across all lanes of the freeway and slammed into the brick wall on right shoulder. I was so shaken up but my adrenaline was pumping, smoke was everywhere in the car and I was afraid it was going to catch on fire, I tried to open my door but couldn't, I had been carrying the Swiss-tech BodyGard 5 in 1 on me for about a year. Sort of bulky on my set of car keys and I thought, when am I ever going to use this? I paid the $15 for it and at that moment when I reached for it (the keys were still in ignition)I was praying it would work. I pressed it up against the glass of the drivers side and POW the glass exploded and broke a gigantic hole. I cleared the rest away with my hand and climbed out the driver's window. I can attest to say that this product worked and I am so happy I had it on me and am happy to be alive.

VectraLight LED Turn Signal Indicator Arrays - VL-20 Review

(More customer reviews)What a fantastic idea: additional LED lighting for a motorcycle that is both auxiliary turn signal indicators and running lights. Out of the box, once installed, the little red and amber LEDs all glow once ignition is on, the red ones come on brighter when brakes are applied, and when the turn signals are switched on that side flashes. Brake lights over-rule indicators.
Wiring is straightforward. Check for the correct colours on the bike's loom and apply Scotchlok style taps. A problem is the wires connecting to the bike's loom are short and it's a bit of a stretch to connect to the indicator, brake, live and earth. This has to be done twice: one for each side.
The LEDs have too much wire. After sticking them and threading the wire into the bike, each side is plugged into a telephone-style socket and the remaining spare cable has to be bundled up somewhere. Perhaps making all connections under the seat rather than at the front of the bike would be easier.
The product works exactly as advertised, but isn't particularly bright in daylight. The LEDs should be larger and brighter. However, at night having additional lighting under the mirrors tells everyone exactly how wide the motorcycle is, and that is what the lights are for.

Audiovox ACA250 Wireless Vehicle Rear Observation System Review

I did call tech support and they explained that this is designed to transmit on an average of 15 feet; basically it is designed for cars and SUV's. Something about the FCC and the legal range. I have an F250 and I was worried about the last two reviews. It made sense that it would not work in a bus or trailer, it's not made for that.
Install was easy, the included Scotchloks worked fine. Yes the wire was a bit thin but they included the red ones for small wire, I just doubled up the camera power wires.
My kit included a long lead to power the monitor in case of interference and the Tech explained that in some areas there is more then other. I had a VR3 product before and they wanted $19.95 for the same lead. The camera is also metal, my VR3 camera cracked in a few months. They also included special anti theft screws so no-one can just take the camera.
The monitor has a swivel base so I mounted it next to my rear view mirror. Ran the power wires to the fuse box and I was done. I do not get the flickering, but every now and then I can see someone else's camera from a house or security camera. I had this with the VR3 piece too. I am guessing if it was 5.8Mghz it would see other 5.8 stuff too ???
The camera had a much better viewing angle then the other and the night vision helps a lot too because the back up lights on my truck are useless. I can also see my hitch with no problem at all. There is a little static but not bad. We put one in a 4Runner and that one works great.
For the price I am happy with it.

Accutire MS-4520B Digital Tire Pressure Gauge with Emergency Hammer, Seatbelt Blade and White LED Flashlight Review

(More customer reviews)I've had this item for about a week now. Initial impressions so far is the hammer is sleek and compact, a bit light and doesn't feel as sturdy as you would think a hammer should be. I haven't tried its ability to break a window yet but I hope in a bind it is the pointed tip that is going to make the difference and the weight behind it isn't required. The gauge seems accurate with a good PSI spread. This was purchased for an off-road vehicle so its worked well for full inflation and in the field for airing down and verifying low pressure.
The biggest drawback I've found is the gauge does not have a dedicated back light. The LED provides just enough light to "kind of" make out the numbers on the gauge if you press it at the same time you check the pressure but the indirect light you get is not substantial. So, depending on how dark it is and how good your eyes are, you may need an additional light to read it at night. The flashlight does come in handy in a pinch as I usually keep this in arms reach to make it accessible everyone in the vehicle.

Swiss+Tech BGCSOR-PS BodyGard Emergency Hammer with Seat Belt Cutter and LED. Review

(More customer reviews)The BodyGard Platinum is a little larger than I expected. I wear it on my keychain, however I could not imagine carrying this in my pants pocket (I don't know what I will do in the summer without a jacket). This review will be incomplete since I haven't had the opportunity to use all seven features. Here goes:
1) Thermometer - Doesn't work. Stays on 80 no matter what the true temperature is. 0 stars
2) Digital Tire Gauge - Have not used yet (but at least the readout works).
3) Flashing Red Distress Light - Is very bright and strong. Very pleased. 5 stars!
4) High Intensity High and Low Beam Bright White LED Flashlight - Provides very bright lighting with either setting. 5 stars!
5) Powerful Sonic Alarm - Is not as loud as a powerful scream, but will draw plenty of attention if you are unable to scream for any reason. However, because of the location of the speaker, it is easy to cover it and dull the sound while holding it. 4.5 stars
6) Safety-Blade Seat Belt Cutter - Is very sharp and well hidden so no accidents can happen. Just pull the keyring off and the cutter is revealed. I have tested it on thick paper and thin plastic and based on its performance, I have no problem trusting it in an emergency. 5 stars!
7) Automatic Glass Breaker - Is very powerful for its size. I haven't had the chance to test it on auto glass, but I have used it on wood, painted sheetrock, and metal. It left a very noticeable mark in each, and always resets itself immediately after being deployed. Also, it took very little power to set it off - even if you are hurt and weakened, you could probably still use it. 5 stars!
Overall, it is a very useful item. The thermometer doesn't work, but I really didn't care about that feature anyway. Every other feature works great (not sure about the tire gauge), and it is well worth the money. I would recommend this item to anyone who is worried about auto emergencies.
If you are looking for the smaller version without the thermometer or tire gauge try this out: Swiss Tech BGCSBK BodyGard 5-in-1 Multi-Function Emergency Tool with Key Ring. My wife has this one, and the important functions are just as good, but it is actually small enough to place in your pants pocket.

(More customer reviews)No where in the review for these motion activated wheel effects did it say the lights blink, but when they were delivered I found out. Blinking lights are illegal in most states and can't be used on the street. These are also made from cheap plastic that wouldn't last but one or two rides anyway, especially if it rained they'd be ruined. Being battery operated they are not as bright as I expected. Bottom line, save your money.

(More customer reviews)I installed this on my 2004 Honda Shadow VT750 Aero. It works great! It flashes about six times and steady on the seventh. Not fast, and its not slow... it's just right.
Installation: I used connectors to go on the ends of the input and the output wires of the device as well as the ends of the cut positive wire that went straight to my brake light. I then soldered the wire unto the connectors. The reason for the connectors was so if the device stops working I can simply disconnect it and connect the positive wire directly to the brake light. (I only had to cut one wire). With the ground wire, I used a terminal connector so that it would connect straight to the negative on the battery; that way I wouldn't have to mess with any more wires (sodered the wire to the metal wire to the connector also). Soldering is not necessary, but I did so so the wires wouldn't be secure. Hope these the review and instructions help.

(More customer reviews)My Flare Alert arrived very quickly and I am incredibly satisfied with my purchase. The bag is sturdy and contains three pockets that safely hold each Flare Alert until you are ready to use them. (There's also room to store batteries inside if you don't want to actually put them into the light until you need to use it.)
Each light needs three AA batteries. I tested one and was amazed at how bright the light was. It literally hurt to look at it more than a few milliseconds. I'm positive that this would be able to viewed from a long distance. I stuck it on the fridge and the magnets worked fine.
It's a great little addition to any car emergency kit. Traditional flares can be dangerous and unreliable. These are safe, easy to use, can be seen from a greater distance, and are longer lasting.
They also have a variety of uses - I could see someone using it to demarcate a driveway for visiting guests or as a night light for kids or even as lighting for a party (you might need to place some sort of lampshade or something over them as these things are really bright).

Nice bright flash, long lasting on the batteries and the magnetic backing makes it handy for both auto brake downs and other warning or attention use.
I bought two to be able to take advantage of the synchronized flashing feature (which works).
They are actually larger than I thought (about the diameter of a coaster), but that is not a downside.

(More customer reviews)I'd steer clear of this product. I purchased two and only one worked. The other will not light up - out of box failure. I disagree with the reviewer who said the backing will not scratch your finish. There are two round, powerful magnets to hold the light to a metallic surface. But the magnets are housed in chrome-plated metal rings that are sure to scratch anything unless you are very, very careful. Also, the on/off button is nearly impossible to press with a normal sized finger. You'll need to use a pen point or something of similar size and hopefully you'll have something like that with you if needed on a dark night. Overall a very poor design and unreliable as well.
