(More customer reviews)Was in a very bad car accident on freeway in Feb 09. I had all front end damage and airbags went off the whole shabang. Very frightening. My car traveled across all lanes of the freeway and slammed into the brick wall on right shoulder. I was so shaken up but my adrenaline was pumping, smoke was everywhere in the car and I was afraid it was going to catch on fire, I tried to open my door but couldn't, I had been carrying the Swiss-tech BodyGard 5 in 1 on me for about a year. Sort of bulky on my set of car keys and I thought, when am I ever going to use this? I paid the $15 for it and at that moment when I reached for it (the keys were still in ignition)I was praying it would work. I pressed it up against the glass of the drivers side and POW the glass exploded and broke a gigantic hole. I cleared the rest away with my hand and climbed out the driver's window. I can attest to say that this product worked and I am so happy I had it on me and am happy to be alive.

(More customer reviews)The "Swiss Tech Micro-Pro" is a very cool multi-tool, with good pliers, a solid Phillips head and flat screwdriver, and a detachable LED flashlight. It technically has other tools, but they are mostly "filler" (i.e. 1/4" ruler marks?). That being said, the real tools are well worth the cost of this well made and compact tool. The folding design also allows this to be carried in pants pockets or on a key ring, wich is very convenient.
Highly recommended.

Swiss+Tech BGCSOR-PS BodyGard Emergency Hammer with Seat Belt Cutter and LED. Review

(More customer reviews)The BodyGard Platinum is a little larger than I expected. I wear it on my keychain, however I could not imagine carrying this in my pants pocket (I don't know what I will do in the summer without a jacket). This review will be incomplete since I haven't had the opportunity to use all seven features. Here goes:
1) Thermometer - Doesn't work. Stays on 80 no matter what the true temperature is. 0 stars
2) Digital Tire Gauge - Have not used yet (but at least the readout works).
3) Flashing Red Distress Light - Is very bright and strong. Very pleased. 5 stars!
4) High Intensity High and Low Beam Bright White LED Flashlight - Provides very bright lighting with either setting. 5 stars!
5) Powerful Sonic Alarm - Is not as loud as a powerful scream, but will draw plenty of attention if you are unable to scream for any reason. However, because of the location of the speaker, it is easy to cover it and dull the sound while holding it. 4.5 stars
6) Safety-Blade Seat Belt Cutter - Is very sharp and well hidden so no accidents can happen. Just pull the keyring off and the cutter is revealed. I have tested it on thick paper and thin plastic and based on its performance, I have no problem trusting it in an emergency. 5 stars!
7) Automatic Glass Breaker - Is very powerful for its size. I haven't had the chance to test it on auto glass, but I have used it on wood, painted sheetrock, and metal. It left a very noticeable mark in each, and always resets itself immediately after being deployed. Also, it took very little power to set it off - even if you are hurt and weakened, you could probably still use it. 5 stars!
Overall, it is a very useful item. The thermometer doesn't work, but I really didn't care about that feature anyway. Every other feature works great (not sure about the tire gauge), and it is well worth the money. I would recommend this item to anyone who is worried about auto emergencies.
If you are looking for the smaller version without the thermometer or tire gauge try this out: Swiss Tech BGCSBK BodyGard 5-in-1 Multi-Function Emergency Tool with Key Ring. My wife has this one, and the important functions are just as good, but it is actually small enough to place in your pants pocket.

Mighty Bright 50612 Roadie Lights Led Set Review

(More customer reviews)These Mighty Bright Roadie Lights are simply great to have around. The smaller of the two measures right around one and three quarters of an inch long, one inch wide and hangs from a key ring loop one inch in diameter and the weight is totally negligible. You can safely add this to your car keys and not worry about the added weight hanging from your ignition. It is obviously made to be threaded to a key ring, but ladies be warned. I split one fingernail while trying to pry open the ring and keep it open long enough to get it onto my key ring. I'll admit I gave up while I was still ahead nine nails. :-)
The larger light comes in at a compact 2 and a half inches in length, one and a half inches wide and is a handy carabiner which makes it easy to clip onto a purse or key ring and remove quickly as needed. The product description doesn't make it clear but this is the only light of the two which is equipped with a constant on switch but that does make it so much easier to use the light as a flashlight while using your hands for other things such as opening a door or a gate. The button on the smaller light is not a 'constant on' switch but is fairly easy to depress and keep enough pressure on to maintain the light while doing things.
I assume these are meant to be disposable as I have yet to see any information as to the size batteries which power the lights. I have not owned or used the lights long enough to speak to the value in terms of price to longevity but the current price averages to three bucks per light for lights small and lightweight enough for me to add to the, already substantial, weight of my purse without notice. Further I can't speak to the manufacturer's claim about the light being visible from a mile away but the LED light is clean, crisp and clear, definitely more than adequate for standard usage. To date, my lights have come in mighty handy for finding items dropped in my car and for lighting my way across our property without having to depend upon my cell phone, which has had to serve in a pinch in the past. And realistically speaking, how often or how many of us would need to have our lights visible from a mile away?
I have used many different types of Mighty Bright lights over the past 25 years and like all of them, these Roadie Lights are inexpensive, dependable and great value for the money. Grab yourself a couple of sets of these, I think you'll be glad you did.

Planet Waves Pick Holder with LED Light Review

(More customer reviews)This key chain is great. It says it can hold about 4 picks, but I currently have 6 in there and there is still room for another. This thing is really handy, you never have to go rummaging through your pockets or a guitar case for picks. Plus, its got a light on it, which is surprisingly bright, which is great if its dark outside and you are trying to load gear into a van (or do anything that requires light). The part you put the keys on is also really well made because it is really asy to get keys on and off, but only if you are trying, they don't come off accidently. Great product!
