Super Bright White 1157 LED 12V Automotive Bulb Review

(More customer reviews)I was looking forward to upgrading my Triumph Motorcycle's tail/brake light with these white LED units. For starters, shipping seemed a little high for two bulbs ($10.00) to Portland OR, but I figured the bulbs would be worth it.
Once they arrived, I removed the lens and replaced one of the two brakelight bulbs with the LED. Upon lighting, the original bulb, on the bike since 2002(!),
was easily twice as bright - naturally putting the lens back on did not change the comparison. The original bulb, without the lens in place, was painful to look at directly, while I could probably stare at the LED bulb all day.
A great way to waste $24.00. Even better, I would only recoup about $7 if I bothered to return them. Save your time and money. I think I'll just stick with OEM.

got them for my car a three weeks ago (figured id wait) and theyve been everything i thought.
they really fit on easy on my chevy equinox, (same size bulbs as the Impala as well as several other chevy models).
The light these give off is much brighter and wider than the stock license plate bulbs. Also the blueish hue to them really adds some flash to the back of your car while driving at night. ive gotten numerous compliments.
great all around. side-note:if your someone who like to avoid the police, dont get these. they INCREASE how well cars can see your plate #'s.

So, I either had to keep them on displaying that I had Hella lights that aren't on, or keep them off showing that I just have working lights. When these came in I was ectatic! Not only do they look amazing on my 2001 Toyota Tacoma, but there is no light obstruction from them. My bull bar is black, so they match-up looks sharp! They are made of a really heavy-duty plastic, too which is nice. They clipped on in two seconds and they stay on tight. I am very impressed with this product, and I would recommend them to anyone who wants their truck to stand out from the rest.

(More customer reviews)I installed these on a 2001 Ford Explorer about 2 weeks ago. They seemed to be working fine until I noticed that one brake light wasn't working properly. When I removed the bulb, I noticed that the plastic mount looked burned. The LED bulb itself melted it's housing, exposing the inner wiring. I immediately pulled the other one, and found even more damage! In fact, as I attempted to pull the 2nd bulb, it began burning again and started smoking. I had to cut the light mount to prevent a fire. DO NOT BUY THESE BULBS! IF YOU DO, CHECK THEM EVERY DAY! Look for the pictures.

(More customer reviews)I needed a replacement bulb for my back light, on my 2003 Honda Accord. IF you open trunk, the light bulb, either top right, or top left, edge of trunk. Although Amazon say doesn't fit, I Pulled the burnt bulb & it had 194, so i bought hoping it would be an exact fit, which it is, might be another compatible (168?) bulb that it shows, but rest assure this one will fit & works great so far. Xoss my finger on how long it last, hope as long as my originals did. Replacing was a snap, if I can do it so can you, pinch & pull to undo connector, then quarter (counter clock?), then replace, then put back reverse order. I'm sure correct dont want to touch bulb with finger, greese & dirt will shorten this & any bulb. Cant tell if briter or is same so read some reviews & make base on that & price. You know the drill.

(More customer reviews)I really liked the idea of upgrading all the bulbs on my car to LEDs. So I thought I would start simple, just 2 taillight bulbs. I'm glad I started small. The bulbs do fit and work pretty much as advertised. However, the car's plastic housing that the bulb fits into is really designed for an incadescent bulb, it doesn't work well with an LED. If you look at the plastic housing, it is several inches across, and the rear of it is speckled chrome, where each small speckle forms something like a 1000-part frensel lens, providing tremendous reflectivity of the bulb. However, that reflectivity isn't achieved with a rear-firing LED, as opposed to a global firing incadescent bulb. Basically you see 6 tiny points of light from the LED as opposed to one huge light from the incadescent bulb. I found the LED to be less bright and harder to see that the incadescent bulbs. Bottom line, I don't think they work well, and will end up being a traffic hazard. I put the incadescent bulbs back in.
