They come in 7 colors:
RED: Is okay but not very bright: 3/10
YELLOW: Very nice yellow with a touch of green. Brightness 7/10
GREEN: Very PURE green color. Brightness is 6/10
AQUA: The most bright color of all, very very bright and guarantees you that heads will be turned on the street. Brightness 10/10
BLUE: Amazing ROYAL BLUE color. Brightness 9/10
PURPLE: Weird color to have under your car. 6/10
WHITE: It's actually pearl-white, very nice. Brightness 9/10
The 8th option will cycle between the 7 colors, about 3 seconds cycle time.
The controller has very beautiful modes some of them are:
1- Constant on
2- starts from the left of the tube and moves to the right.
3- Like 2 above but right to left
4- starts on both sides of the tube and meet at the center.
5- starts from the center and splits to each end of the tube
6- the light bounces between both ends of tube (left right left right...) my favorite mode, but cops keep on pulling me over lol....
7- Sound sensor, the lights will beat with the sound detected by the controller, if you like this mode, you got to be careful not to place your controller close to a speaker. This mode is very nice for showing off when car is parked.
8- Flashing. LEDs will be blinking on and off.
9- random selection between the 8 modes.
There is also a speed controller, enables you to increase or decrease the speed of the LED movement or flashing. However it has no effect on the constant on and the sound sensor modes.
Okay enough bragging about it.
Here is my experience with those LEDs:
The LEDs worked perfectly since i installed them back in February 2008.
They turn heads on the street, made my car outstand in a croud.
no complains at all till after a year (FEB 2009).
The LED tubes were broken and cracked in many places from debris, but as you know since they are LEDs, the lighting its self was not affected. But they lost a little bit of their brightness because the tubes became dirty from inside.
Then one day I drove over a deap water pool, and i think it flooded one of the tubes from inside which caused some short circuit in the controller, all the tubes' LEDs lost the blue color so i was down to around 3 colors only. However, i was lucky to be 1 week before the warranty expired, the dealer replaced only the controller and everything was perfect again.
A month later, it rained, and same mistake drove over a pool, but now the front tube is acting crazy, it's not in sync when i pick a color, i.e. if i chose red, all 3 tubes are red but it will be yellow. and part of the tube's LED are not lighting at all.
Well I guess one year and 3 months from being installed under a car suffering all the debris and the shocks and all the torturing is fair enough for its life service period. But I would have really liked it if StreetGlow thought about insulating the LEDs inside the tube with some transperant gel to protect it from water. Because eventually it's just a matter of time and the plastic tube will crack. Heck maybe it will crack once you leave the installer shop!
Maybe this is their plan of having you buying a new one once every year cuz they know once you try it you are hooked lol.Well bottom line, I really recommend this product if you like to show off your car. Very high quality build, crisp and clear colors, nice modes to chose from. highly recommended. Worth the price as long as the tubes don't completely break in less than a year, guess this depends on where you drive and how good you can avoid debris on road like torn tires, and a little bit of luck if you drove over one lol.
