(More customer reviews)I have been "reminded" by four local law enforcement representatives that my Hella lights were on. A state trooper told me that these are the brightest he has ever seen. Illumination, after all, is why we add lights.
The beam is a slightly vertical ellipse so that even when illuminating the street near the car, the top part of the beam shines far ahead. I have seen retro-reflective road signs illuminated three miles ahead.
My Honda Insight is really small, a subcompact. People pull out in front of it like it's not even there. Running the Hella FF50 lights in the daytime adds more "presence" to my frontal area. A result is that far less people pull out in front of me and instead wait until it is safe. Collision avoidance was an unexpected but welcome side effect.

(More customer reviews)Title says it all. The difference in light output is massive, even with the 55W bulbs.
Sealed beam headlights project two very narrow, yellowish spots of light on the road. These things produce a wide curtain of light with a well defined cutoff. Sometimes they perform just like modern-car projectors.
If you have an old car with sealed beams, you don't even have to think about it. Fully plug and play and the improvement is massive. Also, not having to ditch the whole assembly every time they burn out is great for the environment.

(More customer reviews)Had a few problems with strobe not staying seated properly and control switch falling apart, but that was resolved fairly easily. Strobe is weak by the way. Accent light has feeble connection. If everything is secured well after placement everything should be ok. Might want to wire your own switches in and run power from the parking lights so you don't forget they are on. (Indicator on switch is very DIM!)

Pilot Performance Lighting PL-1069W Pilot 3-1/2"x 2-7/8" Oval Driving Light Kit, H.I.D White w/Mutli-Color LED Ring w/Switch on Box Review

(More customer reviews)The first set had a mismatched wiring harness for the LED's. It looked as if Pilot made an upgrade on splicing the LED wires down to one connection but the harness still had two connections for the LED's. Exhanged them for another set, the wiring was correct on these but I only get one LED color out of the 7. On both sets the HID's worked well and nice and bright but the LED's are unreliable. I'm thinking Pilot is using this as a marketing ploy to sell regular fog lights but they need to come up with something that works as advertised. I spent days splicing wires to get the first pair to work, finally gave up and exchanged them. It only took 30 minutes to remove the old pair and redo since I knew how to do it from the first time around and still disappointment rules the day with these things.

I'm impressed by the light produced my this item, but unfortunately the glass is very fragile and is already cracked, even though it was claimed to be made with hardened glass. I've had to design a grill to protect it from breaking out completely when next hit by flying stones when driving on gravel roads. Also, it is claimed that it has 3 lighting Patterns On All, Flash All, Flash Back and Forth, but sadly I've found it to only have "on all" and "off"
