Leak detection dye. helped me to locate a pinhole leak in the oil sump of a lawnmower that had been "repaired" twice at other shops by replacing the oil seal, and continued to leak. A quick photo with my digital camera of the pinpointed leak before tear-down of the engine made it super-easy and quick to have warranty repair approved.
