(More customer reviews)I bought this to replace the standard festoon incandescent anchor light on my sailboat. The incandescent bulb used about 1.5 amps, over an 8 hour night that burned 12 amp hours. This LED bulb is rated at .3 amps, a significant power saving, especially when you consider the cumulative effect over a number of days.
The ends were advertised as flat, but I was happy to see they actually had an inverted dimple (dimpled into the unit) which fit perfectly as a replacement for the incandescent bulb in my Aquasignal anchor light.
I've only used it for a couple weeks now, so I cannot comment on the longevity of the thing. However, I can report that the 360* output is noticeably brighter than the incandescent bulb it replaced. For the price, which is only a buck or two more than an incandescent bulb, it works great and I'm thinking of replacing my running lights as well. With prices coming down like this, I'd say the days of incandescent lighting will be rapidly coming to an end, and the days of LED lighting will soon be upon us.
