(More customer reviews)About five years ago, I replaced the map lights in my Subaru with then-new LED modules at over $20 each, and have been very happy with them since. Given that, I have no idea why I waited sooooo long to replace the fairly dim original main dome light with an LED module as well!
I finally took a look on Amazon and found this 4-emitter module at a great price and eligible for Prime shipping. Sure enough, it fit nicely between the spring contacts of my '02 Impreza wagon's dome light. Yee-hah! The LED bulb is *much* brighter than the original incandescent and uses a lot less power. I was originally concerned that the light might be too directional, but the four emitters (the square yellow parts in the photo) do a great job illuminating the whole passenger compartment, front, back and side-to-side. The bulb color seems to be a "normal" white, not yellowish or bluish.
Similar modules are available in different contact-to-contact lengths, so measure your existing bulb length (point to point) first to make sure you buy the correct-sized module. If you're off by a mm or two, it should still work, as the socket spring contacts can be bent a bit to fit the bulb securely.
