(More customer reviews)I replaced the little 20W G4-base halogens in my under-cabinet kitchen lights with these. The halogens ran so hot that chocolate stored in the cabinet above them would melt. By comparison, these make SOME heat, but hardly any compared to the halogens.
The color temperature seems cooler (less yellow, more blue) than the advertised 3100-3400K -- I'd say maybe around 4500K -- and is noticeably cooler than the halogens, but it's not noticeably blue, and doesn't look ridiculous or too sterile.
