(More customer reviews)This is the American DJ Megapixel LED light. This light exceeded my expectations by far. It is very bright and colorful. You can plug it in and let it run as long as you want since there is no duty cycle. You can select the program to run or just a single color. It has 24 DMX channels with dimming, but I don't use DMX. I also bought the handheld wired remote American DJ UC3 to control the functions. The remote is great, it allows you to select each program or single color, make it strobe anytime you want and turn it off.
I have two of these so I can put one on each speaker stand vertically, and link them together with a XLR cable so they will light up in sync. You plug them in to the electric, connect the remote to the first one, connect them together with a XLR cable. Now they will light up in sync which is very cool since they are spread apart on each speaker stand. You do not have to use the remote with these lights but it really works great! When you connect them with a XLR cable it automatically sets the second one to "slave" and it reacts the same as the first one. The first one picks up the audio so they beat with the music, the second one is just the slave.
Chauvet makes one called the Chauvet Colorbar. It has less DMX channels, no DMX dimming function and offers a footpedal remote. They are both nice lights but I am very happy with the American DJ version. You get a lot of color and cool lighting for the money. You could mount one on top of your light tree and it would work great for lighting the dancefloor. You can even stack two together if you want it even brighter. This is the coolest light I have seen in a long time.
