(More customer reviews)Although the accompanying photo clearly shows a module with six LEDs on the end plate, the two I received had only three LEDs on the end plates; I consider that to be false advertising. Once I plugged in one of the modules, I compared it alongside one of my stock bulbs. In running mode, the module produces a brilliant, white light that seems to eclipse the stock bulb in luminescence .. very pleasing. Pressing the brake pedal, however, was a disappointment. The increase in brightness was demonstrably less than the stock incandescent bulb.
Once installed side-by-side within the lens housings, the running lamp brightness appeared equal to the stock bulb .. and, as noted earlier, the brake light was less brilliant than the stock bulb. The LEDs just don't seem to intensify as much as an incandescent .. and delivering three fewer LEDs than promised per unit didn't help.
I will keep the units for the longevity that LEDs provide and the fact that LED clusters tend to die gradually rather than all at once as an incandescent bulb does. I also like the ultra white light illuminating my license plate ..
.. but I would rather have had the number of LEDs advertised. I give this three stars for the false advertising.
