The motor is very quite and the led lights were VERY bright. Easily covers my 20' living room with colored light. The only downside is because of the angle of the lights I doubt it would work well when hung upside down. Also, can not be battery powered so it cant be taken to music festivals :(

Mirror Ball Motor Battery Powered Review

(More customer reviews)We received our item about two weeks ago and have been surprisingly pleased with it. It operates on one 'D' battery, which is visible between the upper and lower segments, as the items appears in pictures. On the bottom there's a ring like on a keychain for you to use as the attachment point for your mirror ball. Only the ring on the bottom (and whatever is attached to it) actually rotate.
Mounting it was a small challenge for us, but only because we wanted to attach it to the bottom of a ceiling fan light kit. We accomplished that with several more rings from old keychains.
I bought a package of 8 'D' batteries, thinking the motor might burn through them quickly. But even after leaving the motor on overnight accidentally, the thing is still turning. And we're still on the original 'D' battery.

12" Disco Mirror Balls Review

(More customer reviews)We ordered this to be the centerpiece of our 'house party' after our wedding reception. I debated whether to order a bigger ball or to go with this size. For our large family room, this ended up being a perfect size. It was also the largest recommended size for the disco ball motor we ordered to 'rotate' the ball.
When it arrived, I was a little bit disappointed to see how large the pieces of mirror were - thinking that more mirrors would have meant more 'dazzling' light shows. But when the lights went down and we turned on the spotlights, this was more than adequate. I also was worried that perhaps a mirror piece or two might have fallen off in transit. But in the end those turned out to be extra pieces that must have been mistakenly attached, as we weren't missing any on the ball itself.
Keep in mind that you will probably want something to rotate the ball - a disco ball motor - and something to shine on the ball. We used two Par 36 spotlights with two different color gel lenses.
The 'disco' in our family room was a huge hit at the house party with guests of all ages.

American DJ MB8 Combo 8 Inch Mirror Ball Kit Review

It came quickly and well packed. I had not complaints with the company.
Assembly was easy, just add batteries and attach the ball to the stand. It connects using a cotter pin that just slides on. The stand can be placed on a table or hung from the ceiling (it has a wire half-moon that would connect over a hook attached to the ceiling). The light comes with 4 color covers.
Everything worked out of the box without issues. About the only complaint I have is when changing the color discs, you unscreww the outer plate of the light. I found it takes a few tries to get it screwed back on. You have to line it up just right. Otherwise, excellent product.

I haven't received the Vertigo light yet so this video is just of the disco ball! It wasn't easy to put together! Once I realized the top most pole had sunk down into the device it got easier. I pulled it out I was able to get the thing together with the instructions I found online. There is a PDF on the american dj.com website. Search by model. Cheers!
