I was a little cautious on making this purchased based on a few reviews that I read about it, however the complaints just didn't seem too convincing. I would agree that if you know little about installing car alarms, radios, electronic devices, etc. that you will have a tough time with the installation based on the documentation, but then again why would you even attempt to install this item if you have no experience with alarms, related products, or just common sense and a little time to run a process of elimination test. If you do decide to tackle this installation the documentation gives you very clear detailed diagram of the alarm and all of its components. the only thing that it doesn't tell you is were certain wires are located on your vehicle, for example, it tells you hook this color wire to your ignition switch, but doesn't tell you were your ignition switch wire is on your vehicle, what color wire it is, etc. if you have a wiring diagram of your vehicle you are set to go! If not, don't get intimidated, run some test, like when you have to hook your parking lights up, use a light detector probe to identify the correct wire that operates your parking lights. I am very picky, especially when buying tools, equipment, electronics, etc. I just about always buy name brand stuff and pay top dollar for it. It took me a little while to hook everything up the way i wanted it, but i couldn't be happier about its performance, I was completely blown away! I feel like I got a BIG bang for my buck! I still cant see how this item only cost 29.00 with all the extras that it has. Don't pass this deal up! COPY this link and PASTE it to you search bar. [...]l

The XO Vision DX370 is a great way to protect your vehicle without emptying your wallet. You'll get modern features like remote arming/disarming, anti-car-jacking protection, an advanced electronic shock sensor, and of course, a little peace of mind.

Remote Arm/Disarm The included 4-Button remotes allow you to lock/unlock the vehicle, disarm or activate the alarm (panic mode) within reception range. A "hopping code" means the frequency can't be easily intercepted and duplicated.
Convenience Features In a crowded parking lot? Easily find your car by activating the car finder, which produces one long sound followed by 30 seconds of flashing vehicle lights.
The DX370 also features power trunk release and vehicle lock/unlock.
Advanced Electronic Shock Sensor Shock sensors emit a warning or alarm when your vehicle is hit or moved. The DX370 features a multi-stage sensor that emits chirps for lighter touches and a full-blown alarm/horn honking for heavier impacts
Anti Car-Jacking Protection The DX370 offers three ways to help in the event of an attempt to hijack the vehicle: remote button control, triggered by the door opening, or by the ignition switch. The mode is disabled via the remote, and if not disabled, activates an alarm of increasing intensity and eventually disables the engine.
High Frequency Transmitter/Receiver High Frequency systems avoid interference from other radio devices and offer increased range.
One-Year Warranty The DX370 is covered for a year after purchase.

This product is great. Buying it at full price is over $300. The only thing is that normal people will probably have to get it installed at a shop which costs anywhere from $70-$200 according to the places I asked which still costs less than buying it full priced. In addition to the normal alarm, you can install an LED light, panic mode, valet mode, flashing parking lights, door trigger, shock sensor, and keyless entry. These extras cost more to install but they are so worth it if you want to protect your car.

Mercury Tilt Switch Review

Mercury Tilt Switch

My motorcycle, has a lot of engine braking, so I'm often slowing down just on throttle without touching the brakes. That means I'm open to getting rear ended by an in-attentive driver. Conventional wisdom is to touch the brake pedal when doing this, but it's easy to forget to do that.
I installed this with one wire to the battery +ve, and the other tapped into the normal brake light power wire, near the brake light. I stuck the sensor on the top of my rear mudguard, under the pillion seat, at a rough 25 degree angle.
Now my brake light comes on whenever I slow am slowing down, whether or not am using the brakes.
