Sealed beam headlights project two very narrow, yellowish spots of light on the road. These things produce a wide curtain of light with a well defined cutoff. Sometimes they perform just like modern-car projectors.
If you have an old car with sealed beams, you don't even have to think about it. Fully plug and play and the improvement is massive. Also, not having to ditch the whole assembly every time they burn out is great for the environment.
