Chauvet LX-10 Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)Usually when I purchase lights for anything under $100, I can expect to get what I pay for. The LX-10 surprised me in not only the brightness of the light, but the coverage area and the effects as well! Unpacked the unit as soon as I got it and plugged it in for a test. The switch for sound active, auto mode, and static is located on the bottom. I flipped the switch to auto mode and the mirror did not move. I thought for sure I had a bogus unit until I noticed that the mirror was touching the top of the unit. I moved the mirror down slightly and the light show began! As with any lighting effects, the higher you put it and the more area you have to let it cover, the better effect and wider surface area you will be able to cover.
This unit is not DMX compatible. I see a lot of people saying that a professional DJ uses DMX... I find this statement just not true at all. DMX is a preference that most DJ's have and you don't NEED to have it to put on a great light show. I will say that you will more than likely need another one of these to balance out the coverage if you are mounting on one side of your truss. The other option is to put this in the middle of your truss, and use other lighting effects on the sides to compliment. Speaking of effects, this light will make nice moonflower effects and even strobe for you. All in all, I'd have to say that this is a decent light for this price! Buy one! Buy 2!
