Equus 3410 Circuit Tester Review

This tool works great when checking for voltage in wiring, however it is also supposed to be able to detect grounds which is mentioned on the packaging. Since I have been using this, the LED which is supposed to illuminate when placed on a ground, does not! I do not know if it is because I recieved a faulty piece or it is just a typographical error on the package. However it works well otherwise!

Equus 3320 Auto-Ranging Digital Multimeter Review

This is a meter of above average quality for the price. A great meter to have for the do it your-selfer for around the house, car or boat. However, one function that is lacking is high range AC current (amps) the description says it measures AC current but doesn't say that the max AC amps it can test is 200mA or .2 amps, not really practical for ANY AC current measurments. You can measure the current of say a 20 watt AC light bulb with this meter. The PC you are using to read this draws about 3.5-4 AMPS or about 3500-4000 milli amps, this meter maxes out at 200 ma.
I bought it for AC amps but can't use it for that. I'll keep it as a back up meter but I have to buy a better meter for AC amps. I guess that's what I get for being a cheap skate... time to buy a Fluke!

Equus 3420 Smart Test Light/Circuit Tester Review

Equus 3420 Smart Test Light/Circuit Tester

This test light has 3 colors: white, red, and green. The white LED indicates that there is voltage going through it, and is useful to add a little light to the area that is being tested. The red LED is for (+), and the green LED is for (-). The brightness of the red LED will help indicate how strong the voltage of the circuit being tested is. This test light is computer safe which is a must for modern electrical systems. It has a built in cigarette lighter style plug that has an internal fuse, and an adapter for connecting the tester directly to a battery. An ordinary test light only indicates the presence of a (+) signal while this tester performs like a logic probe to indicate a ground signal as well. It has a very good ergonomic grip, and is recommended for anybody working on automotive electrical systems.
