PYLE PLRD92 9" Flip Down Monitor and DVD player with Wireless FM Modulator/ IR Transmitter Review

(More customer reviews)I bought the PLRD-92 and I have to say, that it DOES have a built in IR Transmitter. I bought a set of wireless headphones and they work GREAT. the sound quality is excellent, even to the Radio thru the built in FM Transmitter. I contacted PYLE prior to making this purchase and they told me that the unit DOES come with built in IR Transmitter. I don't understand why people here on Amazon reviews are saying otherwise. You do have to keep in mind that wireless headphones ONLY work when they are in-front of the unit, not behind it. it is a safety feature to keep people from using the wireless heaphones while driving. The side with the LED lights on this unit should be facing back, because it is on that side of the unit that the IR sensors are located. The signal to the headphones is automatically disconnected when the headphones go past the point where the IR sensor is located. again, ITS A SAFETY FEATURE. I am very happy with my PLRD-92 and HIGHLY reccomend it to anyone in search of an affordable Pulldown DVD player for their vehicle.

If something in your trunk hits it the wrong way the knobs can easily break off must practice caution when placing things around it. Also, there is no fuse on amplifier part which I thought was odd. I don't expect it to last very long but for the price its not to risky or wasteful.

(More customer reviews)I bought the PYLE 19in Monitor/DVD combo to keep my kids entertained on long road trips. After we had it installed we found out the monitor didn't work so we sent it back ($50+ shipping we had to pay for) and got a new one. Got the 2nd one installed only to find out the DVD player wouldn't read any discs and put nasty scratches on the discs that we tried to play. My husband and I and the installation tech tried to contact PYLE several times and got no answer and no return calls or email responses so we returned the 2nd one (again, another $50+ in shipping we had to pay for). Don't waste your money or your time with this product - it's a piece of junk! And after their lack of support, we'll never buy another PYLE product again.

(More customer reviews)i bought this item and was pleased with the screen size. once i installed it, it worked great other than a few things. the speaker is not very loud, and the remote is very odd. no matter where you point the remote it only works part time. the speaker has to be all the way up to hear over road noise. other than thatit worked great....until we were about to leave to come home. no the unit will not play the dvd in it,eject it or anything. its like a dvd is not even inserted. we were watching this movie the day before it messed up. so not only do i have a junk dvd player, but i also am out of a dvd because of this. i will give them a second chance, if they reply to my email quick. maybe i recieved a bad unit? all the other reviews were great for this product.

(More customer reviews)This is a real inexpensive car stereo but NOT CHEAP. Removable face plate with a holder so you can protect it from theft.
There is no balance or fader on this unit but I am only using two speakers so it doesn't matter.
Nice tone and the analog tuning is good, NOT digital so nothing to break down later.
Can't beat this price on a very usable and good looking piece. I bought 2, one for my Gazelle kit car and another for my 1990 Wrangler.
UPDATE::::BOTH UNITS MELTED THE FACEPLATE...EVEN NOT BEING USED. OVER THE WINTER THE PLASTIC INSIDE THE FACEPLATE TOTALLY MELTED. RETURN FOR WARRANTY COSTS AS MUCH AS THE CHEAP UNIT...SO I WILL JUST JUNK THESE AND LOOK FOR SOMETHING BETTER.
ADVICE...BUY SOMETHING ELSE.............

(More customer reviews)i was actually dumb enough to install two of these. the first one i purchased on amazon. it was professionally installed. it worked for about an hour. then the sound works but no picture. just a blue screen. amazon like always was great with the replacement. they emailed me a return label for the old dvd player and overnighted a new one and i got it the next day. i had the old one removed and the new one installed at the same time. this one does not work either. the second one i got has a different problem. it works for about 30 minutes and then powers off. it does turn back on, on its own. it restarts the dvd were it left off. but then only plays for about 2 minutes at a time after that and powers off and on. i have spent a lot of money on install on these. ugh!! i just want a dvd for the kids in the van to keep them happy.

Pyle Pro - Dual 10 Band Stereo Graphic Equalizer w/Spectrum Display Review

I needed to tone down the upper midrange on my Cerwin-Vega speakers. They were sounding a bit hissy when playing music.
The manual says it should be hooked into the tape monitor loop. My receiver does not have one,but it will hook up through most any input, with impressive results. I hooked mine through the C.D. input.
The manual is not real informative. But with just a bit of common sense, hook up is a breeze. The whole process took less than 10 minutes.
Setting the lever controls and EQ Sliders took about 10 minutes as well. However, after listening to a few c.d.s, some tweaking was needed. Nothing drastic, and quite simple.
Not only did it clear up my hiss problem, it improved the low end and the highs as well. I didn't even know they needed any improvement until I heard what a difference this EQ makes on all frequencies. This is the 6th EQ I have owned. This is also the best sounding EQ of them all.
The small green-orange-red LED display is excellent. Great in full light. Even better in low light.
It has 6 inputs on the back, with easy to get at buttons for each on the front.
The mounting brackets are detachable.
The one drawback would be the blue rings around the two level controls. Way too bright, and right next to that great LED display.
I cut holes into some black cardboard paper, and slid them over the knobs, and against the lights. Like magic, they were gone, and I was/am a happy man.
I seldom hand out that 5th star. The blue rings alone would have called for a 4 star review. But the rest of this gem is so great, and the ease of resolving the problem so simple. I think the 5th is warranted.
The price is definitely right, for the quality.
In closing, let me say, I am extremely picky when it comes to my sound equipment.
I highly recommend this EQ. (Obviously).
