The motor is very quite and the led lights were VERY bright. Easily covers my 20' living room with colored light. The only downside is because of the angle of the lights I doubt it would work well when hung upside down. Also, can not be battery powered so it cant be taken to music festivals :(

(More customer reviews)Like most DJs I have been using the sc-8 wired version. Finally American DJ came out with a remote controlled wireless version! I love this unit. It saves me set up time because I don't have to run a 50' cable to my booth and place the switch panel there. Now I set up my stand and lights, plug them in and I'm done. The power pack feels solid. It's a little thicker than the wired version pack. It has eight electric plugs, one 1/4" UC3 jack to control 1 American DJ light (more if daisy chained), and a circuit breaker. You can plug in eight lights and turn them on and off with the remote. No flash button, just on and off. Also the UC3 control is great. I have two of the American DJ Mega Pixel LED lights so I plug in the UC3 control to the "Master" light and run a XLR cable to the second light to link them together. The remote also has the the three buttons to control any UC3 light, just like the wired UC3 remote except there is not a flashing light on the remote to show what mode you are in. It reacts fast and works through walls at a distance.I put a clamp on it to hold it to the light stand.
The remote is small and takes an 23A battery. Push the buttons firmly and it works every time.
It has an all on and all off button you hold for 5 seconds. This is 16 amps and will handle all your LED lights great. I love this and will never go back to a wired lighting controller. Good product!

(More customer reviews)This remote is simple with 3 buttons and a 1/4" plug. The cable is 35' long which seems to be plenty long. I use it with the American DJ Megapixel LED light and it's great. With that light I can go through the lighting programs, make it strobe anytime and turn it off. I love using the remote so I can change the light patterns or select a single color anytime from my DJ booth. It could only be better if it were wireless!

What a light!!!
This is one of the best lights for the least $ out there at the moment. Chauvet claims it's like a fireworks display and they aren't kidding. Simply stunning to watch in action. If you want to see what it puts out go to Youtube and watch a video of one. In my opinion the Vue 1.1 doesn't do enough for the $. The 2.1 and 4.1 rotate, and don't put out as large of an overall pattern, which may or may not be what you're looking for. I already have a 2.1 and love it, but I still had to have a 3.1 when I saw it. The 2.1 left sections of the ceiling bare and I needed to fill it with something.
The Mic is very well attuned to whatever's playing, and the variety of the show is simply hypnotic. This also puts out a lot of light, and will brighten a room when it's running. If you're wanting to keep the light in a room low for mood, you may want to look elsewhere.
It's well constructed, in either version, and runs silent from what I can tell. A super light.
I don't run DMX so I can't give info on that, but my rig is chained for power from light to light and it works fine.

Be aware if you're new to lasers, you will need a fog machine to really see the lasers in all their glory, i suggest a Haze machine (ex: American DJ Haze Generator). (More customer reviews)I bought this product directly from American DJ. Their shipping and customer service was very good. The product, however, did not look like the picture, but still gives the flame effect I needed for our fireplace display. The Silk Flame had to be shipped to me later because it was missing from the box. It would have been a great product if it worked right. It worked for what we needed, but it was frustrating because the lights would go out with the slightest nudge to the base. I will note that I did buy it at a DISCOUNTED price and the product was advertised as being "blemished." I called American DJ and they assured me it worked and the base was just dented. Maybe if I had bought it brand new it wouldn't have the same problems I had with it? Anyway, I gave it three stars because only one light was working consistently the whole time we needed it. I don't know how reusable it will be because of this. I wish they would come up with a similar product that's a lot more sturdy. Will add a video review later.

(More customer reviews)I use to own 2 of these exact lights in the non-LED model. This one is slightly more compact and has a bigger lens, but performs the exact same effect, but at a fraction of heat and energy consumption. My old ones would automatically shut off after 15 moments due to overheating and would turn back on 2-3 minutes later and would constantly cycle this way. Those problems are gone with the LED versions. Awesome product and cool effect!

CHAUVET 4PLAY Review

(More customer reviews)The Chauvet 4Play work exactly as advertised, and the folks who come to my karaoke shows enjoy the extra touch provided by the rhythmically pumping lights.
The major flaw I mentioned, however, is that the "case" is garbage. Chauvet (and other some other manufacturers, too) need to stop skimping on the materials used to make their carrying cases.
Within two weeks of use, the case for the 4Play had begun to come apart at the seems, and within a month of that, both pull tabs on the zippers had gone off track and continue to do so no matter how many times I attempt to repair them.
Unless you can sew, plan on paying someone to replace the zipper with one of higher quality- and stitch up the seams for you, making this item less a bargain than it should be, given how well the lights work. If fact, knowing what I know now- I would've had that done straight out of the box.
