(More customer reviews)I used the Wagan Twin USB/DC Socket Traveler's Adapter for 6 months and found it very convenietn to have two lighter sockets and 2 USB ports. My usual configuration is to have my cell phone, gps, and notebook computer plugged in, but this last time I plugged in my laptop, the power indicator light went out and the unit smoked. I checked the fuse, which was fine, but the springs connecting the fuse had overheated and melted the surrounding plastic. Dang! Bottom line? I liked this well enough that I am back to order a replacement.

Black & Decker 100-Watt Inverter VEC1044BD Review

(More customer reviews)I bought one of these at Walmart for around $15 when I couldn't find my no-name inverters. This one has worked great, I take it on every plane trip I go on. Normally I use this to power my laptop ($15 for an inverter is better than 50-100 for a laptop-specific DC power adapter, if you can even find one). One time when the battery was low, the inverter kept shutting itself off. It would work for a few seconds, then quit until I unplugged + plugged it back in. My theory is that when the laptop battery was extremely low, the power adapter was drawing more wattage than this little inverter could handle. Other than that one time, I've had no problems. Has a little fan noise, normally not noticeable. Definitely recommended, nicer (better built) than the no-name inverters I've tried.

(More customer reviews)The adapter arrived just as it looks in the picture, and it sports a much better form-factor than the clunky alternatives found on Amazon. It's worth noting that the black circle next to the USB input is a blue LED indicator light, letting you know that the device has power. However, the blue light is rather bright. While I like the blue light, some might find it distracting when driving at night; it lights up a good bit of the car.
In my older Infiniti, I have to twist the adapter to find the sweet-spot to get it to hold a charge in the cigarette lighter. I think the problem may lie more with my car than the adapter, though. Once I find the sweet-spot, the adapter works just fine.
When I used the adapter in a 1996 Camry, I had a different result. The adapter worked just fine immediately. I tried twisting the unit to recreate the problem from the first car, but it never lost charge. I actually ran into an unexpected problem. The 1996 Camry has a recessed cigarette lighter, and the nice, small adapter fit into it absolutely flush -- so flush that I couldn't pull it out. I ended up having to loop string around the adapter and pull it out that way (worked like a charm).
The adapter seems to work just fine, and I have no problem recommending this for purchase -- just make sure your car doesn't have an overly-recessed lighter.

(More customer reviews)I tried this so I could use my iPhone's FM transmitter/holder and my GPS at the same time powered to the car's socket. I had tried two other products, and in each case, the iPhone and it's holder were too heavy to hold the item securely. But this adapter is incredibly sturdy and works beautifully. I don't know if it will survive in the long term, but since the male plug is not movable at all, it should last as long as it needs to. No problems with powering up the devices, connection is very solid. I work on the road, am in my car constantly, and so this is the perfect companion to make my ride comfortable. The adapter is very compact, so it fits perfectly, and I suspect it would fit most cars with no problem. I recommend this item highly to anyone who needs to simultaneously plug in 2 devices to their car's electrical socket.

Three-Way Car Cigarette Lighter Socket Splitter, Black Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this 3 months ago and I plugged my GPS, my FM transmitter, and my Ipods charger in all at the same time. I was sketchy on getting this because everyone said it blew a fuse but that never happened with me. Maybe you just can't have too many things using power. Your lighter outlet is only made for a certain amount of watts. Like an electrical outlet, if you have too many things plugged in, it's going to blow a fuse. So you can't be upset at the product. Cigarette lighters are meant to run small things.
Another plus for me is that it sticks out since the cigarette lighter in my 90 New Yorker is a little pushed back.
UPDATE:
After having it for about a year now it still works fine!

Bracketron UGC-102-BL Dual Socket Car Power Adapter Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this item on July 2009 and used it well in the car for some 3 or 4 months.
Normally I like to write my reviews later in time, when I have been able to test them, (normally we read reviews within a week or so, when everything works perfect)
This item remained connected in the car for a couple of months, and then when I removed it from the plug it broke in the metalic connection.
I did not give it any missuse, so I may have gotten a bad one, or this is just the standard quality.
Better luck if you buy one.
